Digital Credential Service Provider – The Foundation of a Digital Hungary

The Digital Credential Service Provider (DCSP) is about much more than developing a mobile application. It is building a nationwide digital infrastructure that will reshape the relationship between citizens and the state in the long term. As a strategic partner of IdomSoft, Trendency has been involved in shaping and continuously developing this ecosystem from the very beginning.

The Digital Credential Service Provider (DCSP) is Hungary’s response to the Digital Europe 2030 strategy, aimed at creating a secure and unified digital citizenship ecosystem that establishes new foundations for digital identification and administration.

Building a system of this scale goes far beyond developing a single application or delivering a standalone development project. It requires research, UX and UI design, technology, accessibility, analytics and long-term standards to work together as one coherent system.

As a strategic partner of IdomSoft, Trendency brings together expertise from multiple disciplines to support the development of DCSP.

Research – starting with real user needs

When designing a digital service for millions of people, assumptions are not enough. We support the development of DCSP with continuous UX research to understand different user needs, behaviours and pain points.

Research findings do not exist in isolation: they feed directly back into product design and the continuous optimisation of the user experience. From UX research and product design to mobile application development, Trendency contributes at multiple stages to the ongoing evolution of the DCSP experience.

UX & UI – a consistent experience across an entire ecosystem

The challenge goes far beyond designing a single interface. Digital services connected to DCSP need to provide a consistent, intuitive and accessible user experience across the entire ecosystem.

As part of this work, we carry out UX and UI design and contribute to the development of a scalable, accessibility-first design system that enables a consistent experience and faster development across the digital public administration ecosystem.

Mobile application and frontend – turning concepts into working services

Trendency’s role in DCSP does not stop at research and design. With our mobile application and frontend development expertise, we also take an active role in implementation.

Alongside development, we contribute to frontend standards and governance frameworks that support the consistent, sustainable operation of public digital systems in the long term. These include frontend governance, component logic, as well as UX and accessibility principles.

This is particularly important because DCSP is not a product that is simply developed once and considered finished. It is a digital infrastructure that continues to evolve and expand.

Analytics – because a digital service is never truly “finished”

A digital ecosystem serving millions of users needs to be measured as well as understood.

Trendency’s analytics experts contribute to data-driven operations by developing unified KPI and measurement frameworks, providing implementation support and creating data visualisation solutions.

Analytics therefore means much more than reporting. It allows us to measure how digital services perform, identify opportunities for improvement and provide a solid foundation for future product decisions.

We are continuously involved

Digital citizenship is not a one-off development project. The ecosystem continues to expand with new life events, EU standards, digital identity services and use cases. This requires continuous adaptation, development and innovation.

This is what makes the DCSP project unique – and what defines Trendency’s role in it. As a strategic partner of IdomSoft, we do not simply deliver an isolated part of the project. Through our interconnected areas of expertise, we contribute to building a digital infrastructure that will shape the future of digital public administration in Hungary for years to come.

We research. We design. We develop. We measure. Then, based on what we learn, we research, design and develop again.

DCSP as a business opportunity

DCSP is not only about the digitalisation of public administration. The infrastructure being built also creates new business opportunities for private-sector organisations.

By integrating services such as eIdentification, eSignature, the Data Wallet and Data Provision into existing digital processes, companies can enable simpler onboarding, faster contracting, verified data sharing and less manual administration. The question, therefore, is increasingly not whether DCSP will affect a business, but how businesses can turn the opportunities it creates into a competitive advantage within their own services and customer journeys.

And our expertise goes beyond the technology itself. Building on our first-hand experience in developing the DCSP ecosystem, we can support organisations preparing for the next era of digital citizenship – from strategic planning and research through UX/UI and development to integration and analytics.
