Kormany.hu – Digital Government Communication Built on Research

We contributed to the renewal of kormany.hu, the official website of the Government of Hungary. Our task was to create a research-driven UX and structural concept that aligns user needs and editorial workflows with the technological requirements of a high-profile government platform.

Kormany.hu is one of the key digital platforms for government communication in Hungary. Its renewal therefore required us to balance high security and availability standards with the needs of both users and editorial teams.

We started the design process with extensive user research. Through focus groups, we explored what people expect from a government website, how they search for information and which types of content they consider most important. Based on these insights, we developed the new information architecture and wireframes, along with a range of recommendations for the platform’s content and structure.

As a result, Government Info (Kormányinfó) was given greater prominence, while particular attention was paid to the platform’s search concept, making relevant information easier and faster to find across a large volume of content.

We designed not only for users, but for editorial workflows as well. We developed a CMS logic that supports simple and efficient content management even with limited editorial resources. The concept also enables future integration with other government platforms and provides a foundation for the development of a content recommendation system.

The result is a research-driven, scalable digital platform designed not only to support current operations, but also to accommodate the future development of Hungary’s digital government ecosystem.
