Tippmix Radar – Sports Betting Has Never Been This Simple and Convenient

Tippmix Radar was created as part of Szerencsejáték Zrt.'s ambition to make the player experience more competitive across Hungary's largest retail lottery network.

1. How would you briefly introduce yourselves and the project?
   Trendency Online Zrt.: Trendency is a fast-growing Hungarian technology company with more than a decade of experience delivering tailored data-driven and digital solutions. Our core expertise includes custom software development, mobile application development, data science, web design, and market research. Our mission is to help organizations embrace the digital future, where data-driven decision-making plays a central role.
   
   The Tippmix Radar project is one of Szerencsejáték Zrt.'s most significant digital initiatives, designed to enhance both the player experience and sales performance across Hungary's nationwide retail lottery network. The application enables users to easily follow their Tippmix and Virtual Sports bets while providing up-to-date statistics on their favourite teams and athletes.
   
   Designed with an intuitive interface and straightforward navigation, the app covers nearly 40 different sports and also allows users to follow live sporting events in real time.
   
   The application was developed in just one year. During this period, we gained an in-depth understanding of sports betting, its rules and nuances, while also conducting extensive on-site research to better understand the betting community and its expectations.
   
   As a result, Tippmix Radar has become exactly the comprehensive and highly functional application that Szerencsejáték Zrt. envisioned for Hungary's largest retail lottery network—bringing together everything sports bettors need in a single mobile experience.

    

2. When and how did the idea for launching your website/application first emerge?
   Szerencsejáték Zrt.: The application had a predecessor that had been available for several years and was well received by players. However, because it was built on a packaged software solution, our opportunities for further development were limited. At the same time, technological progress had outpaced the platform, making it necessary to phase it out.
   
   Even while preparing for its retirement, we knew we wanted to return with a completely new application—one that would retain the strengths of its predecessor while offering a significantly broader and more advanced feature set.

    

3. Which feature or capability of the project do you consider the most valuable for your target audience?
   Trendency Online Zrt.: Two aspects stand out. The first is the sheer volume of data users can access through the application, enabling them to make better-informed betting decisions. The second is simplicity: with the built-in bet slip recommendation feature, users can create a complete betting slip in as few as six taps.

    

4. What makes your solution unique or outstanding in the digital landscape?
   Trendency Online Zrt.: Developing an application for Hungary's largest retail lottery network was a unique challenge in itself. Beyond building a feature-rich platform, we placed great emphasis on creating an intuitive user experience and ensuring compliance with the WCAG 2 accessibility guidelines, making sports betting more accessible to a wider audience.
   
   The application allows users to place bets on events across nearly 40 different sports, follow matches in real time, and receive notifications about the outcome of their active bets. Features such as Favorites, detailed team and athlete information, and comprehensive match statistics help users make more informed decisions while significantly enhancing the overall betting experience.

    

5. What principles guide you when designing new features or content for your target audience?
   Trendency Online Zrt.: Everything starts with our users. We continuously analyze user behaviour and feedback, ensuring that every new feature addresses real needs rather than assumptions.
   
   Throughout the development of Tippmix Radar, our primary objective was to create an application that is functional, intuitive, and fast to navigate. Features such as guided onboarding help new users get started from the very beginning, while the Favorites function and the various convenience features we've introduced make the overall experience smoother and more enjoyable.
   
   Another key priority—set by Szerencsejáték Zrt. from the outset and one that continues to guide future development—is responsible gambling. Every existing and future feature is designed with this principle in mind, ensuring that innovation goes hand in hand with responsible player engagement.

    

6. What are the key factors that make the user experience not only good, but truly memorable?
   Trendency Online Zrt.: A memorable user experience is the result of several factors working together.
   
   First, there's the consistent, user-friendly design. Our UX/UI team created an interface that delivers a unified experience across every feature and screen while keeping navigation fast, intuitive, and effortless.
   
   Second, we focused on providing a comprehensive set of convenience features, including a retail lottery shop locator, real-time event tracking, Favorites, advanced search capabilities, and high system availability.
   
   Together, these elements create a seamless and engaging betting experience—one that keeps users coming back to the app.

    

7. Which digital trends and innovations do you consider essential when developing a modern website or mobile application?
   Trendency Online Zrt.: The digital landscape evolves rapidly, and many innovations that were once considered competitive advantages have now become standard expectations.
   
   Responsive design and robust data security are fundamental requirements today, forming the foundation of a great user experience. The same is true for accessibility. It is no longer simply a matter of social responsibility—it has become an essential feature of any modern digital product.
   
   For this reason, Tippmix Radar was designed in full compliance with the WCAG 2 accessibility guidelines, ensuring that the application is easy to access and use for as many people as possible.
   
   This project also allowed us to incorporate a number of modern digital trends and best practices. Personalization plays a particularly important role, as it not only improves usability but also strengthens user engagement. For example, the Favorites feature gives users instant access to information about their preferred teams and athletes.
   
   The application also allows users to securely store and quickly access their Player Card, a core element of Szerencsejáték Zrt.'s loyalty program, making the betting experience even more convenient.
   
   In addition, predictive analytics and data-driven decision-making help users make faster and more informed betting decisions—for example, by enabling them to monitor dynamic odds in real time
   
   Another major priority throughout development was high availability. Tippmix Radar is designed to deliver maximum stability and performance throughout the opening hours of Hungary's retail lottery network, while all scheduled maintenance and system updates are carried out outside operating hours to minimize disruption for users.

    

8. If you could change or improve anything about the application today, what would it be?
   Szerencsejáték Zrt.: At this point, we wouldn't change anything fundamental about Tippmix Radar. Both we and our players are highly satisfied with the application in its current form.
   
   That said, even during the development of the current version, we knew we had many more ideas for expanding its functionality and further enhancing the user experience. Together with our colleagues at Trendency Online Zrt., we are already defining the next wave of improvements, with development scheduled to begin next year.

    

9. How do you measure user satisfaction? What do you think keeps people coming back?
   Szerencsejáték Zrt.: Because the application supports our nationwide retail lottery network, we receive valuable feedback every day—not only from our retail partners but also from the players themselves through those channels. These insights are invaluable, helping us understand where and how Tippmix Radar should continue to evolve.
   
   In addition, we recently completed a comprehensive user research project focused on the application. The results will become available in January and will directly influence the features and improvements planned for 2025.
   
   One result is already clear, however: despite launching an entirely new solution, our customer support team has received remarkably few complaints or usability-related questions. We believe this is a strong indication that the application has been well received by users.

    

10. How does your application make everyday life easier for users?
    Trendency Online Zrt.: Tippmix Radar eliminates the need for sports bettors to gather information from multiple sources. Whether users are comparing odds before placing a bet or checking the outcome afterwards, the application brings all the relevant information together in one place.
    
    With the built-in bet slip recommendation feature, users can create a betting slip in as few as six taps, while real-time notifications keep them updated on the results of their active bets.
    
    By simplifying access to information and streamlining the betting process, Tippmix Radar helps users make faster, better-informed decisions and enjoy a smoother overall experience.

     

11. What are your short- and long-term plans? How do you see the application evolving in the future?
    Szerencsejáték Zrt.: As mentioned earlier, preparations for our 2025 development roadmap are already underway. The upcoming enhancements will focus primarily on further improving the player experience through a range of innovative new features for both Tippmix and Virtual Sports betting.
    
    Exactly what those features will be... we'll keep that a secret for now.
